Mercenary’s War

Chapter 2340 - 2316: Unanimous Approval

Chapter 2340 - 2316: Unanimous Approval

Salim brought a piece of news; the next morning, the Yemeni Government would announce the cancellation of fuel subsidies, and the Houthis Armed Forces’ insiders had obtained this information in advance.

Having delivered the crucial news, Salim wanted to know Gao Yang’s stance, because Russia and the Houthis Armed Forces had only formed a preliminary collaboration intent and how exactly they would cooperate, and how the team led by Gao Yang would play a role, needed temporary discussions.

Salim indeed stood on Gao Yang’s side, of course, for the sake of the Houthis Armed Forces. However, before Iran and Russia, Salim leaned towards siding with Russia, so he naturally felt closer to Gao Yang, the fake envoy.

"Abdullah asked me to invite you over, but I want to know what you think. We’d best have a brief exchange first, so I can speak more freely later."

With a slight urgency in his tone, Salim finished speaking, then Gao Yang stood up and looked out the window, watching the Ukrainians inspecting the cannons.

After a few glances, Gao Yang turned around and said to Salim, "I first need to know your intentions."

Salim shrugged, saying, "Once this announcement is made, it will inevitably trigger a large-scale wave of protests, and with a little guidance, no, it will turn into scaled unrest even without guidance."

Salim deepened his tone and said seriously, "The only current issue is whether we should seize this opportunity to reveal our cards, and this needs to be discussed with Mr. Lavagani before deciding."

Gao Yang smiled and said, "What do you mean?"

"Such an opportunity is not to be missed!"

Receiving a satisfactory answer, Gao Yang smiled and said, "Our opinions align; such a great opportunity is not to be missed. The issue now is, what does Mr. Lavagani think?"

Salim spoke somewhat reluctantly, "Ordinarily, Mr. Lavagani would seize this opportunity, but he’d always say to wait for orders from home, which puts us in a dilemma because if the announcement is to happen tomorrow, we at least need to be prepared now. Mr. Peter Ram, can you take a stance?"

Gao Yang nodded, reached out to Salim, and said, "If Lavagani’s viewpoint aligns with ours, I won’t say much, and we’ll take him as the leader. If Lavagani disagrees, then I will make a statement and apply the necessary pressure, if needed."

Salim let out a long breath, smiled, and said, "With your words, I’m assured. Let’s head over now; Abdullah is already waiting for you and Jim."

Gao Yang nodded, made a gesture and headed out the door, while Joseph followed him directly.

Indicating for Salim and the others to go ahead, Gao Yang approached Glolov and the others, and whispered, "There’s a change in Sana’a; we must seize this opportunity no matter what. Black Demon has an action plan; if Iran doesn’t approve big moves, we’ll act secretly. Ensure we’re ready to take action, and tell everyone to start changing uniforms; from now on, be on standby around the clock."

Glolov whispered back, "Understood. What about Rebrov’s men?"

Gao Yang glanced at those outside inspecting the cannons and vehicles, and whispered, "Go check if they have combat capabilities, then wait until I get back to decide."

Glolov wiped his hands and sighed profoundly, whispering, "It’s about to start; it came faster than expected. You go; I’ll handle things here."

Nodding, Gao Yang quickly walked toward the door, whispering to Joseph beside him, "Can you speak Russian?"

"No."

"Then try to speak less, know what to do, correct?"

Joseph whispered, "I’ve had training in protecting officials, Boss. Of course, I know what to do."

Gao Yang said no more, quickening his pace.

Jim got into Salim’s car, whereas Gao Yang got into the car driven by Joseph. This car was the one Salim had just specially delivered for Gao Yang—a Toyota SUV, at least seventy percent new, with strong air conditioning, much better than Salim’s own car.

After following Salim’s car for a while, Gao Yang heard Rebrov’s call through his radio earpiece.

"Boss, received, please respond."

"Received, go ahead."

"We’ve checked the cannons; they are usable but have been poorly maintained and used for a long time. Barrel rifling is severely worn, which I believe will affect accuracy."

"Are they usable?"

"They are."

"What do you think the dispersion will be?"

Rebrov pondered briefly, then whispered, "Here’s what: with a brand-new cannon, I’d confidently have observers positioned only a hundred meters from the shell landing point. But with these cannons, I wouldn’t dare have observers operate within five hundred meters of the shell landing point. I need to familiarize with these cannons, but this requires firing many shells, plus I believe precise point-target strike capability is absent. The barrel’s inherent error cannot be predicted or corrected."

Gao Yang whispered, "Understood; just ensure the cannons are usable. I’ll soon have several new cannons for you, but for now, quickly maximize combat effectiveness. As long as the cannons can fire, they have decisive impact, understood?"

Rebrov replied briskly, "Understood, the shells are already in place. We can attack at any time, Boss."

Since Abdullah’s residence was close, Gao Yang finished the call while the car reached the place.

Getting out of the car, they followed Salim in and met Abdullah. Within two minutes, Lavagani arrived as well.

At this time, Lavagani was accompanied by six bodyguards, each burly with a fierce look. Despite Lavagani and Gao Yang’s amiable demeanor, these bodyguards glared at Gao Yang hatefully, eager to devour him alive with their gaze.

It’s unclear whether Lavagani deliberately arranged their demeanor, or they despised Gao Yang due to shared enmity. But surely, Lavagani—whether directly instructed or tacitly allowed—endorsed the bodyguards’ conduct.

Nonetheless, Gao Yang just found it amusing.

Bodyguards stayed outside while the high profiles entered. When Gao Yang sat inside Abdullah’s room, before Abdullah spoke, Lavagani hurriedly said, "Gentlemen, this opportunity is not to be missed, we must act!"

Gao Yang and Jim exchanged a discreet glance.

No issues now; Lavagani was this eager, indicating Iran had decided to act.

Things were smoother than expected; Gao Yang didn’t need to rush to make his stance clear. He looked at Abdullah.

After a moment’s contemplation with a serious expression, Abdullah nodded and said, "Yes, we must seize this opportunity."

Abdullah also took a stance; Jim signaled Gao Yang to speak, and Gao Yang immediately said, "I fully agree with both decisions."
