Chapter 670: The Gods of Time and Space - Chronos and Uranus (Part 2)
Chapter 670: The Gods of Time and Space - Chronos and Uranus (Part 2)
"You mean the Spirits?" I surmised with a grimace, before glancing at Ciel, a horrified look appearing on her face.
"W-Wait, no, you...you can’t take him away from me, I-...!" She began desperately.
"Calm yourself. We will do no such thing. The Spirits are not a problem. In fact, they should prove beneficial. Earth is still rather unstable, forming a connection to the Spirit Realm should help stabilize it. The more you summon and fuse with your Spirits, the stronger a connection between Earth and the Spirit Realm will become. This applies to Jaden Xeno as well. Thus, we take no issue with the Spirits," Chronos informed her.
"And what about my mother?" I asked them with a sense of dread.
"If you complete the trial, we shall make an exception and allow her to reside on Earth. But if you fail, she will be returned to the other world. She may help you in the trial if you wish, but know that if she dies, she will not return, not to Earth or the other world," Answered Uranus.
"Alright...," I nodded quietly.
"A-And the dinosaurs?" Chimed in Cleo.
"Hm? Oh, we have no issue with them either, the planet needs more biodiversity, anyway. In fact, we can place each of the species you gathered in habitats that are suited to them," Offered Chronos in response.
"Sounds good, we’ll take you up on that. We don’t exactly have the luxury of taking care of a bunch of animals in this situation, so that’s probably for the best," I replied with a nod.
"Hey, wait, will we still have our I-Watches?" Inquired Ciel with a frown.
"No, you will not."
Yeah, I suppose that makes sense. It’s fine...thanks to Ai, the Pocket Dimension can carry out most of the functions that our I-Watches had. If we need to look up any information or anything like that, it won’t be an issue.
This sucks, this really fucking sucks. But I have no choice but to play along with these Gods. No matter how powerful I am, I can sense it, the very concept of fighting and defeating them isn’t even in the equation, they’re beyond that.
Freaking out or losing my shit isn’t going to accomplish anything. I need to stay calm and assess the situation, figure out my best course of action.
After everything I’ve done, everything I’ve been through, I refuse to let it end here. I didn’t come this far just to lose everything I’ve worked so hard towards.
"I believe we have covered everything. So, if there are no further questions-...," Began Uranus.
"A moment, please, Uranus. If I may speak," Samsara interrupted him.
"Hm? Very well, but make it quick."
"Alright," She replied, before addressing us, "I’d like to apologize to the three of you. Regardless of my intentions, the fact remains that this is my fault. I’m the reason why you’re being made to go through this trial. For that, I am truly sorry, I did not mean for this to happen."
"You don’t need to apologize. If you hadn’t reincarnated me, my story would’ve ended at my death in my previous life, so I’m not going to blame you for this," I responded with a shake of my head.
"Y-Yeah, same here," Nodded Cleo in agreement.
"What they said," Added Ciel.
"Out of curiosity, how did this happen?" I asked her.
"I got careless and pushed my luck too far, that’s really all there is to it," She replied with a sigh.
"I’m afraid we must end this now, it is risky for mortals to spend prolonged periods of time in this realm. It is time to send the three of you back to Earth," Remarked Chronos, before adding as I felt myself steadily getting pulled out of the white void, "Now, then...the trial shall commence the instant you return to Earth. Best of luck to you, mortals."

I sat up with a start and looked around, grimacing as I met Ciel and Cleo’s gazes, the two of them on either side of me. Where are we? We aren’t inside any of the Sanctuaries, we’re outside somewhere. What-...?
"Damn it! What the fuck is this shit?!" An unfamiliar voice suddenly echoed out from behind us, the three of us spinning around to see two others. They must be the ones that the Gods mentioned.

She had long light brown hair tied up in a ponytail, with messy bangs covering her forehead. She wore a pair rectangular, red-framed glasses over green eyes, she had a light brown complexion and a petite, slender build.
She was wearing a light brown khaki shirt over a dark blue tank top, light brown shorts and a pair of dark blue boots that went upto her knees.
Hm, they’re both fairly strong, assuming it hasn’t been too long since they were reincarnated. I wonder how they got to this level?
"Hi, there. I take it the two of you have already been informed of the situation?" I greeted them.
"Yes, the Gods explained it to us," Nodded the girl, Alkimia, despondently.
"Tch, yeah...this really sucks, damn it. Why do I have to go through this shit?" Muttered Leto irritably, a frustrated look on his face.
Understandable reactions, given the circumstances.
